The many climbs in Nairobi - Mount Kenya didn't give any good ideas for the riders. No riders attacked the entire stage through. When the final climb was near, the strongest riders settled themselves in front of the peloton. Telstra took a confident lead, supporting Goddard Scothern. The devistating tempo set by Telstra crushed rider by rider. When Goddard Scothern ran out of supporting riders, he had only 3 other competitors to beat. One of them, Curt Goodrich (scuppernong), launched a quick attack and managed to sit a lone in front for a short time. He only had Goddard Scothern and Arfan Husain (EpoTopTeam) behind him now. Curt Goodrich could not keep the tempo high, and eventually, both Goddard Scothern and Arfan Husain passed him by.
Arfan Husain launched the sprint, but Goddard Scothern outrunned him and became the winner.
I'm still in shock. When the attack started earlier today, I didn't expect to end up as winner, said the happy Telstra rider, Goddard Scothern. Only at the very end, I realized that this could be my chance, and so it was.
The manager of Telstra was proud of his rider today. Goddard Scothern has been training and preparing himself for this race. It's an important victory - both for Goddard Scothern but also for the team.

Great win by a great rider, congrats.
@ANZ: I'd say winning Germany Tour #16 probably counts as a Div 1 win :P
Well done!
Is this his first Div 1 race win?
